We nearly took down our song with King Paluta because he refused to promote it — Keche
Ghanaian music duo Keche has revealed that they pulled down their collaboration with King Paluta titled My Father from online streaming platforms due to what they described as the rapper’s lack of support in promoting the song.

Speaking in an interview with Ola Michael on Peace FM on May 19, 2026, the group said they believed the track had the potential to become a major hit but were disappointed by King Paluta’s apparent disinterest in pushing the project.
According to Keche member Joshua, the group eventually instructed management to remove the song from digital platforms.
“The song My Father, I told my management to take it down from the internet. The song is an extreme hit song based on the message in it,” he stated.
The group explained that they initially delayed promotional activities after King Paluta reportedly informed them that he was unwell.
They said they repeatedly contacted him while waiting for him to recover, expecting that all parties involved would actively support the song’s promotion.
However, Keche claimed they later realised the rapper was promoting other songs while failing to acknowledge or promote My Father.
“It’s like he was not interested in the song we all made together,” Joshua said.
Keche further disclosed that they were surprised by comments allegedly made by King Paluta in another interview, where he reportedly stated that he owed them nothing and that it was his time to shine.
According to the group, they subsequently released another song after shelving My Father, and the new release quickly gained popularity.
“The following week, we released another song and it became a big hit. We decided not to focus on promoting My Father anymore because we realised we don’t necessarily need him to make a hit song,” Joshua added.
To support their argument, Keche referenced past collaborations with artistes including Kuami Eugene and Bisa Kdei, saying both artistes actively participated in promoting their joint projects.
The duo stressed that successful collaborations require collective effort and mutual support from all artistes involved to maximise the impact of a song.
