Ghana, Zimbabwe Ink 11 Strategic Deals to Power New Era of Cooperation

Ghana and Zimbabwe have signed 11 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening bilateral ties across key sectors, marking a significant step toward deeper regional collaboration. The agreements were finalised during the state visit of Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa to Accra, underscoring a renewed commitment to strategic partnership between the two nations. The MoUs span a broad range of areas, including political and diplomatic consultations, training and research within foreign service institutions, sports development, healthcare, energy, tourism, trade, and archival cooperation. These agreements are expected to enhance knowledge sharing, boost institutional capacity, and unlock new economic opportunities. A notable highlight is the partnership between the Institute of African Knowledge and the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, which will focus on advancing African liberation heritage projects. In the private sector, a separate deal was sealed between Zoomlion Ghana Limited and Geo Pomona Waste Management (Pvt) Ltd to strengthen collaboration in waste management and environmental sustainability. Collectively, the agreements reinforce Ghana’s ambition to position itself as a leading hub for Pan-African tourism, trade, and cultural exchange, while deepening its diplomatic and economic footprint across the continent.
