The Kwahu South Municipality is revving up for a spectacular Easter in 2026, as authorities intensify preparations to host one of Ghana’s most anticipated festive celebrations.
Leading the charge, Municipal Chief Executive Effah Osei Bonsu David embarked on a comprehensive inspection tour across key locations on April 2, assessing readiness and ensuring all systems are set for a seamless celebration.
At the Kwahu Business Forum grounds, preparations are in full swing to welcome entrepreneurs and investors, reinforcing efforts to boost local enterprise and economic activity during the festive period.
The iconic Kwahu mountains are also receiving a facelift, with students actively engaged in beautification exercises, including painting roadside barricades to enhance the scenic appeal for visitors expected to throng the area.
At Obomeng, plans are underway to rename the local library in honour of the late Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, adding a touch of legacy and recognition to the celebrations. Nearby, ongoing developments at the Obomeng Astro Turf—including the construction of a washroom facility and a car park—are set to improve comfort and accessibility for patrons.
Sanitation has also taken centre stage, with inspections carried out at dump sites in Mpraeso and Obomeng to ensure effective waste management systems are in place to keep the municipality clean throughout the festivities.
Meanwhile, the community of Bepong is reigniting its Easter spirit with renewed energy and strong local participation. At the same time, the Odweanoma site has been declared fully ready to host the much-anticipated paragliding event—arguably the crown jewel of Kwahu Easter celebrations.
Expressing confidence in the progress made so far, Mr. Bonsu commended stakeholders for their commitment and urged them to maintain the pace.
“We must ensure a safe, vibrant and memorable Easter for all,” he emphasized.
