Gadayi Joins Ghana’s 4x100m Team for World Relays

Ghana has made late changes to its men’s 4x100 metres relay team for the World Relays Championships 2026, with sprinter Edwin Gadayi drafted into the final squad. The original five-man team included Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, Joseph Paul Amoah, Benjamin Azamati, Isaac Botsio, and Ibrahim Fuseini, but has now been reduced to four. Botsio withdrew due to academic commitments, while Fuseini was ruled out after travel disruptions, including flight delays and cancellations. Gadayi steps in with solid experience, having been part of Ghana’s silver medal-winning team at the 2023 African Games and the gold medal-winning squad at the 2024 African Senior Athletics Championships. Ghana will compete in Heat 3 of the men’s 4x100m race, facing strong competition from Great Britain and Nigeria.
