The KGL Group of Companies has reaffirmed its commitment to tax compliance and national development with the payment of GHS 153 million in corporate income tax to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). The presentation took place at the GRA Head Office in Accra as part of a tax compliance engagement.
The payment marks a significant milestone in the Group’s contribution to Ghana’s economy, reflecting its belief that paying taxes goes beyond a legal obligation and serves as a shared responsibility in building a resilient and sustainable nation.
Speaking at the event, Executive Chairman of KGL Group, Alex Apau Dadey, emphasized the company’s commitment to responsible corporate citizenship. He noted that the Group sees tax payment as a way of giving back to society.
“At KGL, we create value, and we share that value responsibly. Paying tax is not a burden; it is our contribution from what we have achieved as a business operating in this country,” he said.
Mr. Dadey further revealed that in 2025 alone, the Group made total direct payments of GHS 350 million to the state. Out of this amount, GHS 180 million was remitted to the National Lottery Authority (NLA).
He added that the Group’s contributions demonstrate the growing strength and capability of indigenous Ghanaian businesses to support national development while remaining competitive at high levels.
Beyond its tax obligations, KGL Group continues to invest in social impact initiatives through the KGL Foundation. The company has committed over GHS 40 million to community development projects across the country. These include support for Ghana’s senior national football team, the Black Stars, youth football initiatives such as the Regional U-17 Colts Championship, and infrastructure projects like the KGL–EVE Medical Centre in Kumasi and the Alex Dadey University of Ghana Alumni Centre.
The ceremony was facilitated by Dr Martin Kolbil Yamborigya, who commended the company for its compliance and contribution to domestic revenue mobilisation. He noted that such efforts are essential in enabling government to deliver on its development agenda.
KGL Group also expressed appreciation to John Dramani Mahama for his continued advocacy for local ownership and the growth of indigenous enterprises. The company stated that it aligns with his vision of moving from transactional participation to transformational partnerships in building a stronger and self-reliant economy.
